Digitally Dead
..and just like that it’s like I don’t exist. Kind of.
I just deleted my Facebook account. Will I stay off there? I have a good amount of friends and family that I only get to stay caught up with through status updates and occasional messages. But for now I will be roughing it. Maybe this will force me back to the pre-AIM, pre-social network days. Maybe I’ll have to startĀ chiselingĀ out time to sit and call ten or fifteen people every week to feel connected. Maybe I just won’t care to. I don’t know.
Or maybe G+ will bring me back to life.
The Social Network – Thoughts
Well, I just finished watching The Social Network for the first time. My girlfriend Lis hated it(and now finds it ridiculous that I’m writing a blurb about it-even if she’s keeping that to herself), but I found it fascinating. I think it especially struck a chord with me being that it’s a movie about people that are my age doing a lot of what I do(albeit much more successfully).
Besides tickling my geek tendencies, I find myself inspired to get cracking on some of my ongoing projects. I have the urge to sit here and write code until I can’t keep my eyes open any longer(the empty 2 liter of Diet Pepsi sitting next to me may ensure that that won’t happen for quite a few hours yet).
I feel like I’m in college again.
I should have watched this movie months ago.
